Glass hardware buying guide
How to pick the right floor spring, shower hinge, sliding system and steel grade, in plain language.
Choose a floor spring by door weight
Work out the door weight first. 10 mm toughened glass weighs about 25 kg per square metre, 12 mm about 30 kg. A 1000 × 2400 mm door in 12 mm glass is about 72 kg, so it needs at least an AFS-6600 (80 kg); for a busy entrance choose AFS-8400 or AFS-9400.
| Model | Max door weight | Max width | Cycles tested | Notes | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AFS-9400 | 120 kg | 1200 mm | 10,00,000 | Hold open 90° / 120°, Super Spring | ₹8,200 |
| AFS-8400 | 100 kg | 1100 mm | 5,00,000 | Double spring | ₹5,000 |
| AFS-6600 | 80 kg | 900 mm | 3,00,000 | Single spring | ₹3,000 |
| AHFP-105 | 90 kg | 1000 mm | — | No floor digging | ₹9,000 |
A complete swing door needs
- Floor spring (or AHFP-105 if you cannot dig the floor)
- APF-01 bottom patch and APF-02 top patch
- AFS-GDP top pivot
- APF-07 lock (optional) and a pull handle
Door with glass around it
- Glass above the door: APF-03 over-panel patch
- Glass above and beside: APF-04 big L
- Top panel joins side panel: APF-05 small L
- Lock into side panel: APF-07 with APF-07 (F)
Shower enclosure layouts
| Layout | Hinges | Connectors | Finishing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Door only, wall to wall | 2 × ASH-33 or ASH-22 | — | Towel bar handle, APS-01 bottom seal |
| Fixed panel + door in line | 2 × ASH-44 (180°) | AGC-01 U connectors for the panel | AMS-01 magnetic seal, ASA rod set |
| Corner (L-shape) | 2 × ASH-55 (90°) | AGC-03 90° connectors | AMS-01, APS-03 seal, ASA rod |
| Angled bay (135°) | 2 × ASH-66 | AGC-05 135° connectors | AMS-02 magnetic seal |
| Sliding shower | — | — | ASS-2000 kit or ASS-1000 pipe set |
Panels taller than about 1.8 m that are not fixed to the ceiling need a support rod (ASA-10 + ASA-20 + ASA-60).
Which sliding system?
| System | Door weight | Look | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASS-2000 | Light shower doors | Aluminium track | Budget bathroom sliders |

| ASS 44-A1 / A2 / A3 | 60–80 kg | Coin rollers in aluminium track | Offices and homes |
| ASS-3000 S / B | 80–100 kg | Coin clamps with grip track | Large partitions and showrooms |

- Set the floor spring level with the finished floor
- Adjust closing speed after the door is hung
Care & maintenance
- Clean with mild soap and water, then dry
- Keep acid tile cleaners and bleach off fittings
- Check floor spring speed and hinge screws once a year
- Replace worn seals to stop leaks
Common questions
What glass thickness do Addmore fittings suit?
Patch fittings, floor spring doors and shower hinges are normally used with 10 mm or 12 mm toughened glass. Seals suit 8, 10 and 12 mm. Mini hinges (AMH) suit 6–8 mm. Tell us your thickness when you enquire.
Is the glass cut-out needed before toughening?
Yes. Toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled afterwards. Holes and notches for patches, hinges, handles and locks must be made before toughening, as per the drawing on each product page.
What is the difference between SS 202, SS 304 and SS 316?
SS 202 is an economy grade for dry indoor use. SS 304 is the standard for bathrooms and most interiors. SS 316 has molybdenum for better resistance to salt and pollution, so we use it for facade and canopy parts outdoors.
Are coloured finishes more expensive?
Black, Rose Gold and Gold finishes are priced on request because cost depends on the item and quantity. Ask us with your list.
Do prices include GST?
No. Prices on this site are catalogue list prices, excluding GST and freight. Dealer and project prices are available on request.
How do I clean stainless steel fittings?
Wipe with a soft cloth, mild soap and water, then dry. Do not use acid tile cleaners or bleach on fittings; they stain stainless steel. Rinse if acid cleaner touches the hardware.
