Using ASF-04
How and where it is used
Spider fittings carry large structural glass walls (curtain walls and facades) at the corners of each glass panel. Fin type spiders clamp onto a glass fin that acts as the support beam.
How it is installed
- Glass panels are drilled at each corner for routels.
- Spiders are fixed to the glass fin or structure; routels pass through the glass and bolt to the spider arms.
- Joints between panels are sealed with structural silicone.
Where it is used
- Building facades and showroom fronts
- Atriums and double-height lobbies
- Glass skylights and canopies
Choosing tips
- SS 316 is used outdoors for corrosion resistance.
- 4-way at panel junctions, 2-way at edges, 1-way at corners, wall/ceiling types at the perimeter.
